Notarized translation of the power of attorney
A power of attorney is a document authorizing one person to act on behalf of another. When using a power of attorney abroad, its notarized translation is required for the document to have legal force.
Notarized translation of the power of attorney includes
1. Text translation, which is performed by a certified translator specializing in the translation of legal documents.
2. Notarization, when a notary confirms the qualifications of the translator and the accuracy of the translation, comparing it with the original.
3. Stamping, during which the notary additionally puts his/her signature on the translation, certifying its legality.
Where is a notarized translation required?
When completing real estate transactions, when receiving funds or when registering a company, a notarized translation of a power of attorney is required for every legal transaction where you act as a legal representative of one of the parties.
It is important to remember that a notarized translation of a power of attorney is only valid together with the original document or its notarized copy.
