If you are, for example, a simultaneous interpreter, a translator-referent, engaged in technical or legal translation, then it is likely that you have a permanent job and salary, and you calmly answer the question of where and by whom you work. If you get carried away with such a romantic thing as literary translation – and even literary translation in general – it will be harder for you to justify yourself to respectable acquaintances, but once a year you will have every right to celebrate together with all the translators. Someday, perhaps, a promising I.I. talent will join you, so try not to let go of the reins of power in your profession.
For us, this holiday usually falls during the hottest period when we are completing groups, so we do not relax and prepare for the new season!
